Date Sent: 01/24/2017 03:30 PM EST Sender: Michigan Health Alert Network Subject: CDC Health Advisory: Seoul Virus Outbreak in Wisconsin and Illinois Reports of lab-confirmed Influenza A are increasing in Michigan at this time, most notably in the Southeast and Southwest regions of the state. Flu-associated hospitalizations and reports of influenza-like illness outbreaks in long term care facilities are on the rise as well. The weekly estimated flu activity in Michigan has been upgraded to 'regional' activity to reflect these increases. The majority of subtyped influenza specimens continue to be A/H3N2 virus. Sporadic influenza B viruses are also being seen. National data suggest that the 2016–2017 flu vaccine is a good match to the viruses circulating up to this point in the season.
