This year’s CDC National Preparedness Month (NPM) theme is "The Power of Preparedness." Each week will focus on a different area including preparing globally, locally, and individually. Visit the Michigan Prepares website for additional information. For health departments interested in content to share, @MIPrepares and @MichEMHS will be promoting NPM on Twitter throughout the month. Use the official NPM hashtag #NatlPrep. Agencies nationwide are uniting under the banner “Don’t Wait. Communicate.” to encourage everyone to create a family communications plan https://www.ready.gov/september. To ensure Michiganders are ready for possible emergencies or disasters, Governor Rick Snyder has proclaimed September as Michigan’s Preparedness Month. Throughout this month, Michigan is joining federal, state and local governments and private and public organizations in supporting emergency preparedness initiatives and encouraging residents to take action to prepare.
