PsySTART-R (Psychological Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment-Responder) Pilot Survey Questions Evaluation for Pediatric Disasters
Recruitment ends July 30, 2024
The research study, conducted by Dr. Tabitha Cheng and Dr. Merritt Schreiber at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation, focuses on trauma and disaster mental health triage using PsySTART-R. PsySTART-R is a software tool designed to predict post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) risk in contexts like natural disasters and mass shootings. It evaluates 11 risk factors for PTSD without relying on acute stress symptoms. Participants in the study voluntarily complete an anonymous REDCap survey, which takes approximately 5 minutes. The data collected will help develop a pediatric-specific version of PsySTART-R through expert panel input. The data gathered from this study will assist in the development of a pediatric specific version of the PsySTART-R tool via Delphi method with an expert panel of pediatric providers after the initial data collection.
