Psychological First Aid Field Operations Guide for Nursing Homes
During the Regional Leadership Conference Call on December 9, 2016, a discussion was held on conducting two Long Term Care (LTC) train the trainer workshops led by Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown serves as the Director of the Trauma Program Risk and Resilience Research Lab at Palo Alto University. ASPR’s Guide to Compassionate and Empathic Dialogue
ASPR worked with the Americares Foundation, Puerto Rico Region, to develop this guide (and related presentation and flashcard) to help emergency response and recovery personnel engage effectively and empathically with their stakeholders in a multi-hazard environment. It includes an overview of the emotional phases of a disaster, the essential steps of offering compassionate and empathic communication, and supportive evidence-based information and resources.

Michigan.gov/Coronavirus Mental Health Resources - The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has provided resources for those who are struggling with their mental and emotional wellbeing during the Coronavirus pandemic. On this page you will find resources for children and adults as well as the new Stay Well Summer Resilience Series. This is a series of webinars devoted to practices that help strengthen mental resilience. Additionally, the Michigan Stay Well program presents a free interactive learning series for parents and their kids (age 2 to 10) called Draw Your Feelings! Helping your Child Grow Emotionally Through Art.

Mental Health Resources for Traumas & Disasters The CDC offers many preparedness and response resources for coping with a disaster or traumatic event. The effects of a disaster, terrorist attack, or other public health emergency can be long-lasting, and the resulting trauma can reverberate even with those not directly affected by the disaster. This page provides general strategies for promoting mental health and resilience that were developed by various organizations based on experiences in prior disasters.
