What it Means to Partner with Region 7 Healthcare Coalition

Coalitions work with local partners within each region to prepare hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), and supporting healthcare organizations to deliver coordinated and effective care to victims of terrorism and other public health/healthcare emergencies. 

Coalitions provide
  • a collaborative network of healthcare organizations and their public and private response partners
  • Serves as a multiagency coordinating group (MAC)
  • Assists in emergency preparedness including
    • Planning
    • Organizing and Equipping
    • Training, 
    • Exercises and Evaluation
  • Assists in response as MAC in medical communication and coordination

Organizations Partner with Coalitions for many of the following reasons: 
  • Funding opportunities
  • Helps meet assessing agency requirements
  • Facilitates familiarity and trust
  • Establishes communication channels
  • Creates awareness and mutual goals
  • Enhances collaboration
  • Fosters shared resources and learning
