Juvare Webinar Series

​Animal/Plant Health Joint Criminal-Epidemiological Investigations Course
May 14-15, 2024, and May 16-17, 2024
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), are pleased to announce two separate offerings of its Animal/Plant Health Joint Criminal Epidemiological Investigations Course in May 2024. This two-day training workshop aims to expand on the concepts and operational tools for:
1) joint law enforcement and animal-plant health agency investigational techniques
2) agricultural threat and intelligence briefings
3) application of operational case studies and field scenarios
4) the concepts of information sharing, joint interview, and hazardous materials (CBRN) crime scene investigations
5) Red Cell exercises.

This course, which addresses the specific threats to animal-plant health and the pre-harvest phases of agricultural production, is based on the existing Public Health Criminal-Epidemiological Investigations Course developed and implemented by the FBI and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) more than a decade ago.

​National Disaster Life Support (NDLS) Course
July 31, 2024
The NDLS course will be virtual and offered on MS Teams July 31, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  It is a competency-based, awareness-level course that prepares health professionals for the management of injuries and illness caused by disasters and public health emergencies. This will be the last Statewide BDLS course offered before the August 7 Advanced Disaster Life Support (ADLS) class. BDLS is a pre-requisite to take ADLS.

NNSS Counterterrorism Operations Support (CTOS)
NNSS Counterterrorism Operations Support (CTOS) has recently announced the following web-based courses for first receiver/healthcare disciplines. The target audience includes state, local, territorial, and tribal (SLTT). The “First Receivers” include personnel in the following roles: clinicians (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants) and other hospital staff who have a role in receiving and treating contaminated victims (e.g., triage, decontamination, medical treatment, and security) and those whose roles support these functions (e.g., set up and patient tracking)”, according to OSHA’s Best Practices.
