WRAP-EM WEBINAR: Kids in Crisis – Mental Health & Emergency Departments Time: 8:00 a.m. start and 5:00 p.m. end, with 1 hour lunch (noon-1:00 p.m.) The Western Regional Alliance for Pediatric Emergency Management (WRAP-EM) is conducting an initiative to address the ongoing crisis of youth mental health surge within hospital emergency departments (ED). This initiative is focused on providing support to hospital EDs (and associated partners) in their mitigation and management of the significant mental health surge from pediatric populations. These would include, but are not limited to, topics of mental health boarders who have a broad category of issues leading to mental health crises, including acute trauma, suicidal ideation and attempts, neurological or developmental disorders, significant disruptive and aggressive behaviors, and the kids with “nowhere else to go". The second webinar in the series is a solution-focused webinar featuring subject matter experts across the country to address specific challenges, provide tools and resources, and answer questions from attendees. This will take a broad perspective, to include the continuum of care leading up to referral to the hospital ED, the ED experience, and ED disposition - in addition to addressing this challenge via insights and tools from policy, strategic/systems, and clinical lenses. Audiences: Hospitals and healthcare, ED and Primary Care. Primary care pediatricians and family practice physicians, 988 lines and administrating organizations (likely state orgs in this list), local/state mental health departments, mental health coalitions and associations, healthcare coalitions (HCCs), local/state public health departments, Developmental Disabilities Administration, Child Protective Services, Department of Social and Human Services.
