The Preparedness Lunch and Learn series continues in October with more Chemical preparedness information. Topics will continue to build knowledge for emergency managers in hospitals and other healthcare facilities as well as coalitions, local health departments, tribes and others. Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine has established an annual conference focusing on healthcare professional well-being promotion and suicide prevention. This symposium will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Kalamazoo and is open to all healthcare professionals at no charge. For those unable to attend in person, the morning and afternoon keynote presentations will be live streamed (requires registration). EMS credits will be available for those who attend in person. The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), in partnership with World Institute on Disability, will host a two-part webinar series focused on supporting people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs. This webinar series will provide tools, resources, and recommendations for local health departments to offer disability inclusive emergency and disaster preparedness and response.
