The Systems of Care Conference is an opportunity for Medical Directors, staff, and leadership to come together to learn new and innovative ideas and initiatives across the state and country. Participants will better understand how to advocate for, facilitate, and support resiliency in EMS & Systems of Care. The conference also strives to improve the overall care of trauma patients and provide a coordinated and accountable system of emergency care that ensures the right patient gets to the right place at the right time. Information and data related to trauma, new initiatives, programs to address injury, workforce challenges, and establishing Stroke and STEMI Systems will be discussed. The conference is being held virtually on September 27-28, 2023. Register for the 2023 Michigan Systems of Care Conference July 11 & 12, 2023The National AFN Symposium will bring the disability community together with emergency managers, disaster planners, and first responders from across the country in an online forum to foster an environment of trust and understanding vital to advancing the mission of access and functional needs throughout the nation. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (CDHSEM), and New York University (NYU) are hosting the two, half-day, online National AFN Symposium to highlight forward-leaning, inclusive, innovative practices in emergency management. The Symposium is sponsored by the American Red Cross and Big City Emergency Managers (BCEM).
There is no cost to register and participate. Please pass this along to your health care coalition and emergency management community. The symposium runs from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. (EST) both days. As we recover from the prolonged pandemic response and begin to define the endemic phase of COVID-19, natural disasters, emerging infectious diseases, terrorist threats, climate issues, and maintenance of all-hazards plans can now be reexamined. The theme for the 2023 Preparedness Summit, Recover. Renew: Reprioritizing All-Hazards Preparedness, will provide an opportunity to revisit these pressing issues and share resources, shape policies, and build skills to mitigate a variety of threats. |
