CMS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION / National Webinar on the Newly Released CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule

CMS is hosting a call open to the public on Wednesday, October 5 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. ET to discuss in detail the provisions of the Emergency Preparedness Conditions of Participation/Conditions of Coverage Final Regulation, the enforcement/survey process, and opportunities for technical assistance.  CMS is also soliciting questions in advance and the call will also include a Q&A session. 

Due to the high interest and visibility of the new CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule, CMS has scheduled a national webinar open to all partners and stakeholders. Please feel free to distribute. ASPR TRACIE will distribute through our website and next Express (to be released end of September ). And it will be advertised through the NHPP Newsletter, beginning next week.

The Emergency Preparedness Requirements final rule established national requirements for Medicare and Medicaid providers. During this call, we will discuss the new requirements and revisions in the final rule, as well as how to plan for both natural and man-made disasters, while coordinating with other emergency preparedness systems. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

·        Overview of available technical assistance
