Region 2 South is partnering with Southeastern Michigan Region to conduct mental health courses in 2016. Details and registration information for two courses are detailed below. Courses will be held in partnership with the American Red Cross and are supported by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Psychological First Aid on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Washtenaw Red Cross, 4624 Packard, Ann Arbor 48108, Classrooms A & B
Psychological First Aid is an instructor-led, basic level course that consists of five separate segments and a self-review questionnaire. The course provides a framework for understanding the factors that affect stress responses in disaster relief workers and the clients they serve. Disaster Mental Health Fundamentals on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Washtenaw Red Cross, 4624 Packard, Ann Arbor 48108, Classrooms A & B Disaster Mental Health Fundamentals, previously called Foundations of Disaster Mental Health, is a basic level, instructor-led course that introduces the key concepts, knowledge, and skills required of a disaster mental health responder.
